Is DVR (TiVo) worth it? And does it make you a TV addict or super couch potato?
So I think I’ve finally convinced my husband to stop paying over 0 in cable and switch over to satellite. The problem is they’re giving him the option of the DVR service which I think is a very bad idea. He’s already a little too attached to his TV. Any personal experiences with the service you could share with me would be great.

I was pretty skeptical about getting a DVR at first, too. I am so glad I bought it though! Once you have it you will wonder why you held out. It depends on whether your husband sits and watches commercials or not. I don’t really like commercials so I would rather sit and watch a show for 45 minutes instead oh an hour with commercials. I can pause it, use the bathroom, and not have to hurry to get back. I can go to the store and buy some milk and come back and watch my shows without missing a line. Another good thing about a DVR is that you don’t have to watch a show at a specific time. My wife and I were really into Prison Break, sometimes we were home for it and other times we weren’t but it wasn’t a big deal because it was getting recorded. Trust me, you will like it. Although, you could just use your VCR or DVD recorder and it should work just fine but it’s a bigger hassle (tried it first).
