A few questions over Digital Cable?

We just got it today, we got basic channels (for here its around 2-99) and a few extra in the hundreds, maybe about 30-45. I was expecing A LOT more channels..like MTV2, Sci Fi, ect. Also, with HD. We did however get DVR though. Once commited to a designated plan, are you allowed to switch? can you get HD channels without an extra fee if you went and got a HD converter or cords or something of the sort? any help is appreshiated.

i'm 99% positive they'd let you switch, and most likely for free if you're going to be paying more. they may charge a small fee to step down in packaging. as for the free HD, not possible. its what the box is programmed to do, not just how it operates.
